Site Content - V-AWARE: The Journal

Welcome to the Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Issue of V-AWARE, our March 2010 issue. March is DVT Awareness Month.

DVT results when a blood clot forms within a deep vein - and any delay in diagnosis or treatment can result in longstanding patient disability and/or death. Fortunately it is readily treated if symptoms are recognized and treatment is delivered in sufficient time. The problem with venous insufficiency has also recently been implicated in neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis (MS). This issue explores this relationship with a special focus on CCSVI, chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency.
